Keep motivated this winter!
The Wadenhoe Winter Challenge Series is an ideal opportunity to keep motivated and fit throughout the winter. It is a series of four races held at Wadenhoe, near Oundle. There is an off-road run/bike/run event (3:6:3 miles) and also a off-road quadrathlon in the form of a run/kayak/bike/run (3:2:6:1 miles).
These are friendly, low-key events where all abilities are welcome, from beginners to the hardened athletes. You're quite welcome to take part in one or all four of the events but you need to complete two to qualify for the series. The off-road course is based around Wadenhoe Village Church on common and farm land with very varied terrain, from open fields, hills, riverside marshes and swamps! It is a very exciting, challenging event that should appeal to the adventurous racer.
The first race is on Sunday 30th November 08. The cost is £10 per person, per race, £2 extra for on the day entry.
There are a few general purpose kayaks for hire for those people wishing to enter the quadrathlon, some canoeing experience is necessary due to the winter conditions.

After the race, our famous homemade refreshments including soups, cakes, bacon butties, will be served in the local Village Hall.
The BQA AGM will also take place in the afternoon and also the 2008 National Trophy Presentations. If your new to the sport and want to find out more its a great chance to meet some of the hardend quadrathletes. Likewise if you are a regular athlete come and share your views and support your sport.
